Auto Greaser Systems — Automatic & Semi-Automatic Grease Lubrication
Auto greaser systems deliver grease to bearings, pins, and bushings on a schedule—replacing manual gun service with electric, pneumatic, or assisted hand pumps connected to dividers, injectors, and controllers. IsoHiTech builds and sources pumps for NLGI #000 through #3 grease across viscosity, pressure, and tank sizes from 0.4 L handheld units to 200 kg barrels.
This hub compares models on the product grid below: cabinet electric pumps (CS / CSM / CSK / DZGK-L), compact DC units (SK-505), barrel transfer kits (Y6020, air and barrel pumps), and hand backup pumps. Pair any pump with progressive blocks, injectors, timers, hose reels, and lubrication tubing.
Selection starts with point count, pressure class, voltage, and refill access—then match discharge (ml/min or ml/stroke) to your divider or injector BOM. Deep guides: grease pump hub · grease pump guide · automatic lubrication.

How Auto Greaser Systems Work
An automatic greaser replaces periodic manual gun service with a closed-loop supply → meter → control architecture:
- Pump layer — electric motor, pneumatic motor, or assisted hand pump builds pressure in the supply line or progressive header.
- Metering layer — progressive divider blocks, SL32 injectors, or single-line injectors split grease by volume per cycle.
- Control layer — lubrication timer, PLC, or machine interlock defines lubricate/pause intervals, monitors low level, and stops the pump on fault.
During the lubricate interval, the pump runs until line pressure satisfies the controller or a preset time elapses. During the pause interval, pressure drops, injectors or progressive pistons reset, and the system waits for the next cycle. Electric cabinet pumps (CS / CSK / DZGK-L) suit fixed machinery; barrel and air pumps suit workshop transfer; DC units such as SK-505 suit mobile equipment.
Which Auto Greaser Model When?
| Application | Typical model on grid | Reservoir | Pressure / flow | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| CNC / machine tool cabinet | CS, CSK, DZGK-L | 2–8 L | ~25 MPa, 5–10 ml/min | 1–3 outlets; pair with external timer |
| Sealed small tank OEM skid | CSBEKA | 2 L sealed | ~2 MPa, high flow | Integrated automatic control |
| Mobile DC, one line | SK-505 | 1 L | 8 MPa, 13 ml/stroke | 12/24 V; compact footprint |
| Fleet / workshop barrel | Y6020, Air/Barrel pump | 20–200 kg drum | 35 MPa / 0.6–0.85 L/min | Transfer + field gun service |
| Large plant metal tank | BSB, CSM | 30–100 L | 25–40 MPa | Level switch option for PLC |
| Manual PM backup | Hand grease / Hand Pump | 0.4–15 L | 15 MPa hand class | Not automatic—keep as spare |
Building a Complete Auto Greaser BOM
Selecting the pump is step one. A field-ready auto greaser usually includes:
- Pump + reservoir matched to NLGI grade, ambient temperature, and refill access
- Metering sized for total ml/cycle at all points (sum of block outputs or injector settings)
- Controller with lubricate time, pause time, and low-level input
- Distribution — rigid pipe or hose, hose ends, fittings, filter on large systems
- Protection — hose protection cover on exposed runs; factory pressure test before shipment
Rule of thumb: pump rated flow should exceed total metered demand per minute by at least 20–30% to overcome line friction and cold-grease stiffness.
Filling, Bleeding & Commissioning
- Fill with clean NLGI-rated grease through filler port (electric tanks) or from drum (Y6020 / barrel pumps). Avoid contaminating grease with dirt or mixed grades.
- Bleed air at pump outlet, divider inlet, and highest point in the network—run until pure grease exits with no bubbles.
- Program controller — start with OEM lubricate/pause values; shorten interval only after confirming no over-lubrication.
- Prove every point — run cycles until fresh grease appears at each bearing or fitting.
- Enable alarms — wire low-level switch to stop pump and signal maintenance before dry running damages seals.
Electric vs Air Auto Greasers
| Factor | Electric (CS / CSK / SK-505 / Y6020) | Air (Air Grease Pump / barrel pneumatic) |
|---|---|---|
| Power source | 220/380 V AC or 12/24 V DC | Shop compressed air (~6 bar class) |
| Control | Timer, PLC, level switch | Air solenoid + timer or manual trigger |
| Best environment | Fixed machines, vehicles with electrical system | Workshops, drum transfer, explosive-safe areas where electric motors are restricted |
| Maintenance | Motor brushes, PCB, element wear | Air motor lubrication, ratio pump seals |
Troubleshooting Common Auto Greaser Issues
| Symptom | Likely cause | Action |
|---|---|---|
| Pump runs, no grease at points | Air lock, empty tank, blocked filter | Bleed lines; refill; clean or replace filter |
| Some points only | Blocked progressive section or injector | Isolate block; replace section; verify meter sizing |
| Pump runs continuously | Timer fault, shorted control, leak | Check controller output; inspect fittings and hose |
| Grease too stiff in winter | NLGI too high for ambient temp | Switch to softer grade or heated enclosure |
| Low-level alarm frequent | Tank undersized or leak downstream | Upsize reservoir; audit divider and hose leaks |

Most electric tank pumps use a filler port on the reservoir—fill with a standard grease gun or bulk pump. Barrel kits (Y6020, pneumatic barrel pumps) draw directly from the drum. Purge air after refill before returning to automatic mode.
A controller energizes an electric or air-driven pump on a cycle. Pressurized grease flows through metering devices to each point. When the pause interval starts, line pressure drops and injectors or progressive sections reset for the next dose.
Electric cabinet pumps suit fixed machines with available AC/DC power and closed-loop control. Air barrel pumps suit high-volume transfer from 20–200 kg drums in workshops and mobile service where compressed air is available.
Most pumps on this page support NLGI #000 through #2; Y6020 and some barrel units extend to #3. Match pump element and follower plate to grade and ambient temperature.
Hand pumps are inherently manual. Upgrade to CSK / CS / SK-505 electric units or add a separate controller-driven pump for true automatic greasing while keeping a hand pump as backup.
