Bijur B101 Flexible Extension Jet Assembly

Aftermarket jet assembly replacing Bijur B101 flexible extension jet. 265 mm gooseneck with B136 tip, 1/8 NPT air, 5/16-24 UNF fluid, needle valve metering.

What the Bijur B101 Is

The Bijur B101 is a flexible extension jet assembly designed for air-oil mist lubrication and cutting fluid delivery on machine tools. The assembly combines a bendable gooseneck tube with a B136 spray tip, allowing an operator to direct the spray at the tool-workpiece contact zone and hold that position during machining. Air and fluid enter through separate ports on the die-cast body, and the jet head needle valve controls how much liquid is drawn into the air stream.

How the Venturi Mist Works

Compressed air passes a restriction inside the jet, where its velocity rises and static pressure falls, creating suction at the fluid inlet through the Venturi effect. The needle valve meters how much liquid enters the air stream in response to that suction. The air then shears the liquid into fine droplets, and the B136 tip shapes the resulting spray before it leaves the nozzle.

Setting the Needle Valve and Air Supply

The needle valve is a metering adjustment, not an on/off control. Open it gradually until the required wetting or mist is obtained, because excessive opening gives a coarse wet spray and wastes fluid. Use regulated, clean air rather than full shop pressure. The air supply figures of 15 to 40 psi normal operating and 125 psi maximum inlet are system-level ratings for associated spray-mist equipment, not jet-alone ratings.

Flexible B101 or Stub B103

The B101 is the standard jet on Bridgeport Series I and Series II knee mills, and it is also used on manual and CNC machining centres, lathes, and drilling machines. Compared with the B103 stub jet, which is roughly 1-7/16 inch or about 36 mm depending on the applicable drawing, the B101 reaches around guards, fixtures, and spindle housings. The B103 suits installations where the outlet already sits close to the cutting zone.

The gooseneck bends by hand and holds its position. Make broad gentle bends rather than repeatedly flexing the same point sharply. Keep clearance from the spindle, cutter, and moving table, and aim at the tool-workpiece contact zone for effective lubrication.

Related Parts

For a complete spray-mist setup, pair this jet with a suitable oil mist pump that supplies regulated air and fluid to the jet body.

Multi-outlet installations may require oil mist distribution blocks to route mist from a central source to several jets on one machine.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is this assembly used for?

This assembly delivers air-oil mist for lubrication and cutting fluid delivery on machine tools. The flexible gooseneck positions the spray at the tool-workpiece contact zone.

How long is the B101 jet?

The overall length is 10-7/16 inch, which is approximately 265 mm. The gooseneck tube can be bent by hand and holds its position.

What threads does the jet body have?

The air inlet thread is 1/8 NPT, and the fluid inlet thread is 5/16-24 UNF. Confirm these against the marking on your unit before ordering replacement fittings.

How is the mist actually made?

Compressed air passes a restriction, creating low pressure that draws fluid through the needle valve. The air shears the liquid into droplets, and the B136 tip shapes the spray.

How do I set the needle valve correctly?

The needle valve provides metering adjustment rather than an on/off action. Open it gradually until the required wetting appears, avoiding a coarse wet spray that wastes fluid.

What air pressure should I use?

The associated spray-mist equipment typically operates at 15 to 40 psi with a 125 psi maximum inlet. These are system-level figures, not jet-alone ratings, so use regulated clean air.

Will it fit a Bridgeport knee mill?

The B101 is the standard jet on Bridgeport Series I and Series II knee mills. It also works on many manual and CNC machining centres, lathes, and drilling machines.

Should I choose the B101 or the B103?

The B101 gooseneck reaches around guards, fixtures, and spindle housings. The B103 stub jet suits installations where the outlet already sits close to the cutting zone.

What fluids can this jet spray?

Neat cutting oils and lubricating oils are the natural fit for this assembly. Use water-based coolants only where the jet, seals, and downstream equipment are approved for them, and avoid abrasive or solid-filled fluids.

How do I order or get support?

IsoHiTech Lubrication Systems, founded in 2023, engineering since 2006, builds and supports every unit. Email inquiry@isohitech.com for specifications and a quotation.

Request pricing through the quotation form and include your machine details. A support engineer will confirm the threads and spray tip before ordering.
