What a Compression Bushing Is
A compression bushing is the male threaded connector body in the Bijur Delimon three-part compression fittings family covered by the Specialty Fluid Fittings catalog, catalog B151 family. It threads into a pump port, junction block, manifold, or meter unit and provides the seat and thread form for the rest of the fitting assembly.

This is an aftermarket part, not manufactured, sponsored, or endorsed by Bijur Delimon.

A compression bushing does not seal by itself. The assembly is three parts: bushing, compression sleeve, and compression nut. The bushing is the fixed male body; the sleeve slides over the tube; the nut threads onto the bushing and drives the sleeve forward.

How the Three-Part Seal Works
The bushing provides the fixed seat and the male thread that enters the port. The compression sleeve slides over the tube outer wall. The compression nut threads onto the bushing and drives the sleeve forward as it is tightened.
Tightening bites the sleeve into the tube outer wall against the bushing seat. That bite forms a metal-to-metal seal between the sleeve, the tube, and the bushing seat. The sleeve is the sealing part because it deforms into the tube and seats against the bushing.
When a connection is reopened, the sleeve stays swaged on the tube. The bushing and nut can be removed, but the sleeve remains fixed to the tube wall. That is normal behavior for a compression fitting after the first tightening.
Matching Tube Size and Thread
A 5/32 inch body and a 4 mm body are close in size but are not interchangeable. Tube, sleeve, nut, and bushing are a matched set per size. Do not mix a 5/32 inch bushing with a 4 mm sleeve or tube, even if the parts appear to fit loosely before tightening.
When moving a fitting to new tubing, replace the sleeve rather than reusing a bitten ferrule. A used sleeve has already swaged into the old tube outer wall. Reusing it on new tube will not form a reliable metal-to-metal seat against the bushing.
For a verified anchor pairing from the catalog family: 5/32 inch tube on a 5/16-24 outlet uses compression nut B1095 with compression sleeve B1061. Use that pairing as a reference when checking your existing assembly.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does a compression bushing do by itself?
A compression bushing does not seal by itself. It is the male threaded body that receives the sleeve and nut.
Which tube sizes does this bushing family cover?
The family covers 3/32, 5/32, 3/16, and 1/4 inch tube. It also covers 4, 6, 8, 10, and 12 mm tube.
Which thread sizes are available on these bushings?
Threads include 5/16-24, 1/4-28, and M8 x 1. Larger bodies use M10 x 1 through M18 x 1.5, with M6 x 1 on the smallest.
What materials are these bushings made from?
Brass is the standard material for these compression bushings. Stainless steel is the corrosion-resistant option for harsher environments.
Can I use a 5/32 inch bushing with 4 mm tube?
A 5/32 inch body and a 4 mm body are close in size. They are not interchangeable because tube, sleeve, nut, and bushing are a matched set.
Why should I replace the sleeve when reusing a fitting?
The sleeve stays swaged on the tube after the first tightening. Reusing a bitten ferrule on new tube will not form a reliable seat.
What is the working pressure rating for these bushings?
Working pressure depends on tube size, wall thickness, and material. No single universal rating applies to the full bushing family.
What is a verified anchor pairing from the catalog family?
For 5/32 inch tube on a 5/16-24 outlet, use compression nut B1095. Use compression sleeve B1061 with that same pairing.
Are these Bijur Delimon original parts?
These are aftermarket parts, not manufactured, sponsored, or endorsed by Bijur Delimon. Bijur Delimon part numbers are for cross-reference identification only.
