Hand Lubrication Oil Pump — Manual Piston Pump for Centralized Oil

Hand lubrication oil pumps use a manual piston mechanism: pulling the handle down draws oil into the piston chamber; spring return on the upstroke discharges oil into the supply line. They are the simplest pressure source for single-line resistive (SLR) oil systems on presses, conveyors, and machines without electrical power at the lube point.

Combined with a resistive distributor and SBJ metering units, one hand pump can feed multiple bearings. IsoHiTech test reference: 15 m line length3 m lift, up to 15 lubrication points when sized correctly. Suitable for maintenance cycles of about 1–2 times per week (daily use on light-duty routes).

Oil viscosity ISO VG 32–250. Reservoir options 0.5 L, 1 L, 2 L (L5 family class). Related: lube oil pump hub · single-line systems · high-pressure hand pump (grease service).

How Manual Piston Oil Pumps Work

Each handle stroke creates a pressure pulse in the main line. Metering units or restrictive distributors open at set pressure and deliver a shot to each bearing; when pressure falls, lines vent back and meters reset. The operator controls how often the system cycles—ideal for equipment that does not warrant an electric pump.

Building a Small Centralized Oil System

  1. Mount hand pump at accessible height; fill with clean ISO VG oil.
  2. Run main line (6 mm) to manifold or tee network.
  3. Install one SBJ meter per point with correct flow code.
  4. Connect 4 mm nylon legs to bearings; support with pipe clips.
  5. Cycle handle until oil appears at farthest point; log strokes per week per PM chart.

What reservoir sizes are available?

Common tanks: 0.5 L (20501 class), 1 L (20504–20506), 2 L (20507–20509). L5-style 0.5/1/2 L variants may share the same family—confirm P/N on quote.

How many lubrication points can one hand pump feed?

Factory test reference: 15 points with 15 m total line length and 3 m vertical lift. Heavier oil or longer runs may require fewer points or larger stroke model (20501 @ 5 ml/stroke).

What oil grades are supported?

ISO VG 32–250 (21–210 mm²/s per table). Stay within rated viscosity for smooth spring return; very thick oil in cold shops may need more strokes per point.

Left, right, or middle outlet—does it matter?

Yes—select orientation so the discharge port points toward your main line routing in a crowded cabinet (20502/05/08 = right, etc.).

How often should operators cycle the pump?

Typical PM: 1–2 times per week per machine chart; high-duty lines may need daily short cycles. Replace hand lubrication with electric pump if operators skip cycles.

Can this pump move grease?

No—this is an oil hand pump. For grease, use high-pressure hand grease pump or hand grease pump.
