What Is the 24EJF-P Electric Directional Valve
The 24EJF-P is a two-position four-way electric directional valve for dual-line lubrication systems. A small electric motor drives the spool, so the valve changes position only when the controller commands it. Position 1 connects P to A with B to R; position 2 connects P to B with A to R. One line is pressurized while the other returns grease to the reservoir, then the two swap. It is rated to 40 MPa, so it suits heavy greases and long lines.
Within the family, each device does a different job. The YCK pressure valve senses line pressure and signals the controller. The SYP hydraulic reversing valve switches mechanically with no power at all. This 24EJF-P switches on controller command, which is what PLC-driven and multi-zone systems need. The end-of-line pressure unit displays pressure at the far end of the line.

How It Works
Inside the valve, an electric motor turns a drive that shifts the spool between two positions. The spool stays where the motor put it until the next command arrives. In position 1, pump flow leaves through port A and the return line comes back through port B to the reservoir. In position 2, the pattern reverses: pump flow leaves through B and A becomes the return. In a typical dual-line system the controller alternates positions every 5-30 minutes, which is well inside the 120 cycles/hour limit. A manual override allows shifting by hand during setup, and the visual indicator shows the active position.
Choosing Ports and Power
Port size follows flow and line length. Use G1/4 for pump flow up to 6 L/min and line length up to 50 m; G3/8 for 6-10 L/min and 50-100 m; G1/2 above 10 L/min and beyond 100 m. Undersized ports raise pressure drop and slow the system down.
For power, match the supply available at the machine. AC 110V, 220V and 380V at 50/60 Hz suit most plant supplies, while DC 12V, 24V and 48V suit mobile equipment and DC control panels. The model format is 24EJF-P-[port]-[voltage]-[options], for example 24EJF-P-G3/8-AC220.
Installation
Mount the valve vertically with the motor on top where possible. Horizontal mounting with the return port facing down is also acceptable. Support the valve independently so pipe loads do not stress the body, and keep about 150 mm of clearance around it for service access. Connect the P, A, B and R ports to seamless steel tubing rated for the system pressure, sealed with a thread sealant rated for high pressure. Size cable and overcurrent protection per local electrical code, and confirm the enclosure rating for your environment when ordering. Wire the control signal to common PLC relay outputs and lubrication controllers, set to alternate on your normal cycle. A motor-driven valve holds its last position when de-energized – confirm fail behavior for your configuration.
What Is Supplied
Each order includes one 24EJF-P electric directional valve with the selected port size, voltage and options, a 2 m cable with M20x1.5 cable gland, a visual position indicator, a manual override and a built-in 100-mesh screen. Proximity switch versions come with the PNP or NPN sensor and M12 4-pin connector.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does 4/2 mean on this valve?
It means four ports and two spool positions, not four separate valves. The four ports are P, A, B and R.
Is the 24EJF-P self-actuated?
No, it needs a control signal and power to change position. Line pressure alone does not trigger it.
What happens on power loss?
A motor-driven valve holds its last position when de-energized. Confirm fail behavior for your configuration.
The motor runs but the spool does not move. What should I check?
Check for position feedback, motor overload and controller timeout alarms. These usually point to the cause.
How does this compare with the SYP mechanical valve?
Choose electric for PLC integration and multi-zone control. Choose mechanical where there is no power or no PLC.
Can any grease be used?
NLGI 0-3 greases are declared for this valve. Cold or heavily worked grease raises shifting force.
How do I pick the port size?
Follow the three-tier guide by flow and line length. G1/4 up to 6 L/min, G3/8 to 10 L/min, G1/2 above that.
Should I choose AC or DC?
Match the available supply and controller outputs. AC suits plant supplies, DC suits mobile and DC panels.
What maintenance does it need?
Inspect electrical connections, spool movement and cleanliness at your regular maintenance intervals. Keep the screen and ports clean.
