What the Pump Family Does
This is the reservoir-and-controller half of a two-page pump pair. The base unit, model DC-220S, is a motor-driven pump that draws oil from an integral reservoir and feeds a metering block or distributor. The DC-220ST is the same pumping element supplied with an HLC-R2L controller, which runs timed cycles at a set volume and interval.
Typical duty is a machine or small group with a handful of points: guideways, screws, cams, chains, and open gears.
For a compact single-machine unit, see the 2L oil lubrication pump. This page covers the larger reservoirs, the controller option, and the ordering code. The wider oil lubrication pumps range lists both families together.

Decoding Models and Controllers
DC-220S is the base pump with no control electronics: cycle timing must come from a panel timer, a PLC output, or a manual switch.
DC-220ST adds the HLC-R2L controller. The controller energizes the motor for a set running period and then rests for a set interval.
The D suffix is a separate axis: part numbers 20100D and 20101D mark the metering or PDI variants. If your system uses injectors, the D variant is the one to specify.
Reading the Ordering Code
The ordering code strings four facts together: part number, delivery in brackets, reservoir volume, and supply voltage.
Example one: 20100(216)-10L-24V. Part number 20100 is the base pump without a controller. The bracketed 216 is the rated delivery in ml/min. The 10L is a 10 L reservoir. The 24V is a 24 V DC supply.
Example two: 20101D(108)-20L. Part number 20101 is the controller variant, and the D suffix marks it as a metering or PDI build. Delivery is 108 ml/min. The reservoir is 20 L. No voltage is written, so the supply must be stated separately when you order.
When you build a code for your own machine, fix the four fields in this order. If a field is unclear, contact the team with the machine details.
Sizing Against the 2L Pump
Delivery choice is a question of total cycle volume and line fill time. The 108 ml/min rating suits short lines and few points, where a fine shot is wanted. The 216 ml/min rating shortens fill time on long lines and feeds more points in the same running period, with coarser shot control.
Reservoir sizing sets autonomy. Count the points, the shot volume at each, and the cycle rate to get hourly consumption. Divide usable volume by that figure for hours between refills.
Against the 2L pump, the split is simple. Few points, one machine, no controller needed: the 2L pump. Many points, a controlled cycle, and larger autonomy: this family.
Voltage is picked by the machine supply: 220 V AC, 110 V AC, or 24 V DC. Power draw is 25 W or 30 W depending on the version.
The central lubrication system guide explains how system types differ and where a timed pump fits.
Installation Pointers
Mount the reservoir above the metering unit where possible and keep the suction path short. Prime the pump before the first timed cycle.
At the farthest point, purge air from the line until oil arrives, then reconnect. Run one manual cycle and check for weeping at each outlet thread. Record the normal working pressure after the first few cycles; a rising reading points to a blocked line.
Set the controller cycle to match the point count and delivery.
Frequently Asked Questions
What separates the S and ST models?
DC-220S has no controller and needs an external timer. DC-220ST includes the HLC-R2L controller for timed cycles.
How do I choose between 108 and 216 ml/min?
Use 216 ml/min for long lines and many points needing fast fill. Use 108 ml/min where fine shot control matters more.
How do I size the reservoir?
Count points, shot volume, and cycle rate to get hourly consumption. Divide usable volume by that figure for hours of autonomy.
Which supply voltages are available?
220 V AC, 110 V AC, and 24 V DC. Pick the one your machine already provides.
Which model do I need for a PDI system?
Choose the D variant, 20101D or 20100D; contact the team with your injector list.
How do I read the ordering code?
It runs part number, delivery in brackets, reservoir, then voltage. For example, 20100(216)-10L-24V.
Is the flow rating exact in service?
The rating is nominal at reference conditions. Actual flow shifts with oil viscosity and back pressure in the line.
When is the 2L pump the better choice?
When one machine has few points and no controller is needed. Larger families suit many points and timed cycles.
What should be checked at commissioning?
Prime the pump, purge air at the farthest point, check for weeping at outlets, and record normal pressure.
