What a Filler Pump Does
The DJB-F200 is a drum-mounted electric filler pump. It transfers grease from a bulk drum into machine reservoirs, smaller containers, and grease guns. It is not a system supply pump that feeds distribution lines around the clock. If you need a pump for a centralized lubrication system with distribution valves and metering devices, see the electric grease pump page instead. The distinction matters because a filler is sized for transfer flow and short runs, while a system pump is sized for line pressure and continuous duty.

Filling Procedure
Prime the pump before first use: fill the suction path with grease so the gear pair never starts dry. Set the outlet into the receiving reservoir or gun, start the motor, and run until the stream flows steady, then stop. Thick grease moves slower than the nominal figure, so treat 200 mL/min as the rate for pumpable grades at working temperature. Wipe the outlet coupling after each session so hardened grease does not greet the next fill. If delivery stays weak after priming, check the suction path for air entry before looking anywhere else.
Drum Setup and the Follower Plate
The pump mounts on a 200 L (55 gallon) drum through a follower plate. The plate rests on the grease surface and follows it down as the drum empties, keeping the suction submerged and keeping air out of the pump. Air drawn into a gear pump causes noise, weak delivery, and dry running, which is exactly what the plate exists to prevent. If you are unsure which drum and plate combination fits your pump and grease, ask through our quote request page.
Grease Grades and Limits
The pump handles grease from NLGI 000, the softest grade, up to NLGI 2. Grades near the stiff end of that range flow slower than the nominal output, especially at the cold end of the -10°C to +50°C operating range, so allow extra time per fill. The internal relief valve opens at 1.2-1.5 MPa to protect the pump when the outlet dead-heads. The one hard rule is never run the pump dry: the spur gear pair damages quickly without grease present, and dry running is the most common cause of filler pump failure.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the DJB-F200 a system supply pump?
No, it is a filler that transfers grease from drums into machines, reservoirs, and grease guns. For a system supply pump feeding distribution lines, see the electric grease pump page.
Which drums does it fit?
It mounts on 200 L (55 gallon) drums with a follower plate. A compatible filled drum option is covered on the 180 kg grease drum page.
Why does it need a follower plate?
The plate keeps the suction submerged in grease and keeps air out of the pump. Air drawn in causes weak delivery, noise, and dry running.
Can it run dry?
No, the spur gear pair damages quickly without grease present. Dry running is the most common cause of filler pump failure.
What flow can I expect with stiff grease?
Real flow with stiff grease runs slower than the nominal 200 mL/min. Cold grease at the low end of the temperature range slows it further.
Which grease grades can it handle?
It handles NLGI 000, the softest grade, through NLGI 2. Stiff grades move slowly, so allow extra fill time near grade 2.
What power supply does it need?
The declared motor is 1.1 kW, 380 V three-phase, 50 Hz. For other voltages, confirm the motor option when ordering.
What does the F200B variant add?
The DJB-F200B carries a 270 L integrated reservoir instead of a drum mount. Choose it where a fixed supply tank suits the layout better than a drum.
How do I prime the pump?
Fill the suction path with grease before the first start. For priming help with your grease grade, use our quote request page.
