Lubrication points are rarely in a convenient place. Adapters and extensions solve these problems at the point of connection, letting you bridge thread families, add reach, change direction, and step between sizes.

Thread Families and How Each One Seals
Sealing behavior, not appearance, is what separates thread families. Two fittings can look similar and seal in completely different ways. The grease fitting types guide covers the point-side hardware in the same plain terms.
NPT is a tapered thread that seals by thread interference, completed with thread sealant applied to the male thread. Because the taper advances with each turn, final orientation is a result of tightening, not a target you can set in advance.
BSPP, often marked G, is a parallel thread. It positions and clamps the parts but does not seal on its own; the seal comes from a bonded washer or a face seal at the shoulder. Sealant on the face is never correct here.
JIC is a parallel thread with a 37 degree metal-to-metal flare. The flare seats against its mating cone and forms the seal with no sealant at all. Cleanliness and alignment matter more than torque here.
Metric straight threads seal in one of two ways depending on design: at a 24 degree cone, or at an O-ring face. Identify which form you have before ordering.
Extension, Adapter, Reducer and Angled Bodies
Extensions add reach to recessed fittings. Straight extension lengths of 25, 50, 75, 100 and 150 mm cover most access problems. Longer runs should be supported so the port carries no bending load.
Angled bodies re-route a connection around an obstruction. Adapter bend angles of 45 degree and 90 degree versions let you clear a hose, a guard, or a neighboring component.

Materials
Carbon steel zinc-plated covers general duty in ordinary machine environments. Stainless 304 suits moderate corrosion exposure, such as humid plant rooms. Stainless 316 is the choice for washdown areas and coastal sites where chlorides are present. Brass serves low-pressure gauge and air lines.
What Is Supplied
We supply straight extensions in the five lengths above, angled bodies in 45 degree and 90 degree versions, reducers, and adapters that bridge NPT, BSPP, JIC, and metric connections. Inch threads cover 1/8 inch NPT, 1/4 inch NPT, 3/8 inch NPT and 1/2 inch NPT. Metric threads cover M10, M12, M14 and M16. JIC connections use the 37 degree flare.

Choosing and Installing the Right Fitting
Start with the port, not the coupler. Identify the thread family and size, then decide whether you need reach, a change of direction, a size step, or a family bridge.
Hand-start every thread to avoid cross-threading, and counter-hold the mating part when tightening so you do not load the port. Confirm the pressure rating for your size and material before ordering.
