6-Outlet Dual-Line Metering Device | 35-400 Bar Grease & Oil Distributor with Magnetic Indicator

6-outlet dual-line grease and oil metering device: 35-400 bar, adjustable 0.15-5.0 cc per outlet, magnetic indicator pins, G3/8 or 3/8 NPTF threads.

The 6-outlet dual-line metering device is a distributor block that meters grease or oil to six lubrication points in a dual-line centralised lubrication system. It is supplied as an equivalent for Lincoln VSL-6 configurations: IsoHiTech supplies aftermarket-compatible components. Brand names are used for compatibility reference only. IsoHiTech is not an authorized OEM dealer. Each outlet meters one fixed volume per cycle, confirmed by a magnetic indicator pin. This page covers the six-outlet version of a family spanning 1 to 8 outlets.

How It Works in a Dual-Line System

A dual-line system feeds the metering device from two main lines. The pump pressurises one main line while the other vents back to the reservoir; a changeover valve then swaps the roles. Supply-line pressure shifts the metering pistons; each stroke pushes a set volume to an outlet. When the alternate line pressurises, the pistons shift back, so each outlet meters once per complete cycle. The pin toggles with every cycle, so cycling is visible without a gauge. For valve stations and line sizing, see the dual-line lubrication systems guide.

Applications and Mounting

Typical point groups are large bearings, gear reducers, conveyor chains, and clusters of pins and bushings fed through long pipe runs. Mount the block in any orientation close to the point group so feeder lines stay short; support both main lines and keep the indicator positions visible. Where one bearing needs a larger dose than a single outlet delivers, cross-port adjacent outlets to combine their output at that point. For the rest of the system, see the dual-line lubrication system category and the electric grease pump page. To have the block checked against your layout, contact us for a quote.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a dual-line metering device?

A distributor block between the two main lines and the feeder lines of a dual-line lubrication system. Its pistons measure one fixed volume per outlet every cycle and push it to the connected point, so each bearing gets a set dose.

What does 6 outlets mean, and can I use it for fewer points?

Six independent metering outlets, each feeding one point. A six-outlet block fits a six-point group; if your group is smaller, the family is available with fewer outlets, so state your point count when ordering.

How does a dual-line system differ from a progressive system?

A dual-line system alternates pressure between two main lines and every device discharges each cycle, suiting long pipe runs and large point groups. A progressive system feeds one supply line through pistons that must fire in sequence. See progressive lubrication systems, the dual-line lubrication systems guide, and the working principle of the grease distributor block.

Why is there a minimum pressure of 35 bar?

The pistons need enough line pressure to shift fully. Below 35 bar a piston can stall mid-stroke and deliver a partial dose or nothing. Keep the system inside the 35 to 400 bar envelope.

How is the output per outlet adjusted?

On adjustable builds, per-outlet output is set between 0.15 and 5.0 cc per cycle. On fixed-output builds, choose 1.25, 2.5, 3.75, or 5.0 cc per cycle at order time and the value is built in. State the required per-point dose when ordering.

What does the magnetic indicator pin show?

One indicator position covers an outlet pair, so this block has three. The pin toggles each time the pistons shift, confirming a completed cycle. If a pin stays still while the pump runs, that section did not shift: check line pressure and look for a blocked feeder line or point.

Can outlets be combined to feed one bearing?

Yes. Adjacent outlets can be cross-ported to combine their output at one point, the standard way to feed a large bearing that needs more per cycle than one outlet delivers.

Which inlet and outlet threads are used?

The inlet is G3/8 (BSPP) or 3/8 NPTF; each outlet is G1/4 (BSPP) or 1/4 NPTF. No, do not mix forms: BSPP is parallel and seals at a face, NPTF is tapered dryseal, and mixing them leaks or damages threads. Name the form your system uses when ordering.

Is this a replacement for a Lincoln VSL-6?

No, it is not an original Lincoln unit. It is a functional equivalent for VSL-6 configurations, built to the outlet count, pressure range, dose options, and threads stated above. This page does not claim formal standards approval; we supply to the stated mechanical values.
