Lubrication System Controller | Programmable Grease Pump Control

Programmable lubrication system controller for grease pumps. Metered 0.15 cc per cycle, pause 1-96 hours, with SC400, SMDC and CLP styles.

What a Lubrication System Controller Does

A lubrication system controller is the timing and metering brain of a centralized grease system. It decides when the pump runs, for how long, and how much grease each point gets. The controller does not pump grease itself: that job stays with the grease pump, and splitting grease across points belongs to the grease manifold block. The central lubrication overview shows how these parts fit together.

Programming Parameters

Settings are entered on the controller interface and held in memory when power is removed. Every cycle delivers a fixed metered dose; the pause between sessions, cycles per session, pump run time, and phase length are all programmable.

ParameterAdjustable rangeWhat it controls
Grease per cycle0.15 cc, fixedMetered dose delivered each cycle
Pause between sessions1-96 hoursHow often lubrication runs
Cycles per session1-30Total grease per lubrication event
Pump run time1-15 secondsHow long the pump runs each cycle
Total cycles per phase1-250Length of a full lubrication program
Pre-lubrication cycles0-99Extra cycles for new or rebuilt equipment
OutletsA00-A04 (1-4 points)Number of lubrication points served

Each cycle is 0.15 cc, so that is the smallest dose step per point: 3 cycles x 0.15 cc gives 0.45 cc. If a bearing needs less grease per interval, keep one cycle and lengthen the pause.

The generation parameter (Pu1/Pu2) must match the connected pump and zone layout; set wrong, the pump runs out of step with the program, so confirm it before commissioning.

Three Controller Styles

SC400-style multi-zone controller

For fixed plants with more than one lubrication zone: 2 independent zones, automatic reservoir refill, and a separate timing program per zone, as used on conveyor systems and larger machines.

SMDC-style mobile controller

For mobile equipment on 12V or 24V DC vehicle power: 4 operating modes, a digital display, and settings kept through power interruptions.

CLP-style cartridge controller

A compact unit mounted with the grease cartridge for single-point or small-group lubrication, with timed operation, cycle counting, and a low-grease alarm.

Alarms

Across the range, alarms cover low grease level, line overpressure, and pump or flow-path failure; outputs only work when wired to a lamp, relay, or watched plant input.

Power Supply and Memory

Supply options are 12V DC, 24V DC, and 110-240V AC. The supply type is factory-fixed and cannot be changed in the field, so match it to the equipment before ordering. Programs sit in non-volatile memory, so a power cut does not erase settings, and a manual test button runs one cycle on demand. The controller pairs with electric pumps and with air-driven units such as an air grease pump; the generation parameter defines the pairing.

Setup and Commissioning

Mount it in a dry spot with the display and refill point accessible, connect pump and distribution lines, then program the outlet count, pause, cycles, and generation parameter. Run several cycles on the manual button and verify grease arrives at every point and line pressure stays within the system design. Frequently Asked Questions

What is a lubrication system controller, and how do timer-based and monitored types differ?

A controller schedules and meters grease delivery from a central pump. Timer-based units run a fixed pause-and-cycle program and suit steady-duty machines; monitored types add level and fault alarms where a missed event is costly. Both meter in 0.15 cc steps; the difference is feedback, not dosing.

How much grease does one cycle deliver?

0.15 cc per cycle. Three cycles give 0.45 cc per point. Scale the session from 1 to 30 cycles, or lengthen the pause to spread doses.

Which pause interval should I start with?

From 1 to 96 hours: 8 hours suits daily-duty conveyors, 24 hours suits press and machine lines, 96 hours suits light or seasonal equipment. Adjust from bearing temperature and grease condition at inspection.

What do the outlet codes A00 to A04 mean?

They set how many points the controller serves, from 1 up to 4. Match the code to your distribution layout before programming the cycles.

Which controller style fits my equipment?

Fixed plants with separate zones suit the SC400 style, mobile machines suit the SMDC style, and compact cartridge installations suit the CLP style. The style is fixed by model, so decide before ordering.

What happens when power is lost?

The program sits in non-volatile memory. When supply returns, the controller resumes its schedule without any settings being re-entered.

Can I trigger a cycle by hand?

Yes. A manual test button runs one full cycle on demand to check a new installation or push grease after line work.

Do the alarms work without extra wiring?

No. These alarms need outputs wired to a lamp, relay, or monitoring input; without that wiring the controller still lubricates, but nobody is signaled when something is wrong.

Can I convert a 12V DC unit to AC supply later?

No. Supply is chosen at order between 12V DC, 24V DC, and 110-240V AC and cannot be changed in the field. Confirm the machine supply first.

Who makes these controllers and where can I order them?

IsoHiTech Lubrication Systems was founded in 2023, engineering since 2006. Send application details to inquiry@isohitech.com or use the contact page for a quote and the team will confirm style, voltage, and programming guidance.
