Remote Grease Anchor Block

Remote grease anchor block converging 1 – 8 hard-to-access points to one gun position. Steel or SS304/SS316 bodies, 1/8 inch BSP fittings, runs to 15 – 18 m.

A remote grease anchor block relocates the grease fittings of several hard-to-access points to one position a technician can stand at. Each outlet is a dedicated passage: one tube, one lubrication point, no metering. Standard blocks offer 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, or 8 outlets in galvanized carbon steel or SS304/SS316 stainless steel, with SS304 grease fittings in 1/8″ BSP. For the opposite layout – one pump feeding many remote points – see the remote grease manifold or grease manifold block pages; the grease line tubing guide covers tube sizing.

What a Remote Grease Anchor Block Does

The block serves points that guarding, distance, or moving parts put out of gun range. Tubes run from each buried nipple back to the block; one gun couples to one fitting. Typical uses span heavy manufacturing, mining, food processing, and construction equipment.

Outlet Configurations and Materials

Standard blocks come with 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, or 8 outlets, one tube per point; larger counts call for cascading or a custom block. Drilling differs by material.

Steel suits most factory equipment; stainless is the default in food and chemical plants.

Compatible Tubing and Pressure Ratings

Three tube sizes cover the common pressure ranges; match the tube to the point’s resistance, not only the fitting size.

Tube SizePressure Rating
6 mm standard tubeup to 1,291 PSI / 89 bar
8.6 mm high-pressure tubehigh-pressure duty
11.3 mm extreme high-pressure tubeup to 12,184 PSI / 840 bar

For powered feeds over longer runs, see the grease pump overview for matching classes.

How Grease Travels to Each Point

Each outlet is an independent passage, so grease divides among points by line resistance, not by a fixed ratio. The block cannot meter equal doses; measured doses belong on a progressive system with metering valves. Number every tube at both ends; route tubing away from abrasion, hot surfaces, and pinch zones.

Mounting, Fittings, and Grease Gun Compatibility

Mount the block through standard holes where the gun coupler seats squarely. Tubes connect with compression, push-in, or reusable fittings; accessories cover reducers, 45 and 90 degree elbows, banjo, swivel, and bulkhead fittings. SS304 fittings take 1/8″ BSP threads; manual, battery, and pneumatic guns couple directly. Custom sizes are available.

Honest Limitations

Four boundaries:

  • The block does not meter; grease splits by line resistance, so measured doses need a progressive system.
  • Distance is bounded: approx 2 m from an electric gun or approx 5 m manual on 6 mm tube; high-pressure tube extends runs to 15 – 18 m.
  • One tube per point; two points on one outlet split grease unevenly.
  • Non-standard outlet counts or drilling call for a custom block; confirm when ordering.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is an anchor block different from a grease manifold or a progressive system?

An anchor block is a converging plate: several remote points, one gun position, each outlet an independent passage. A grease manifold splits one pump output among lines; a progressive system adds metering valves. For measured doses, the block alone is not right.

How many lubrication points can one block serve?

Standard blocks carry 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, or 8 outlets, one tube per point; larger counts call for cascading or a custom block.

Can two points share one outlet?

No. Two points on one outlet receive grease by line resistance, so the freer point is serviced first and the other may starve. Run one tube per point.

Should I choose galvanized steel or stainless steel?

Galvanized carbon steel suits general industrial machinery; SS304 or SS316 fits food, chemical, marine, or corrosion-critical duty. Steel blocks are T-drilled with a 90 degree outlet; stainless blocks are straight-through only.

Which tubing works with the block?

Three sizes: 6 mm standard tube up to 1,291 PSI / 89 bar, 8.6 mm high-pressure tube, and 11.3 mm extreme high-pressure tube up to 12,184 PSI / 840 bar. Confirm sizes when ordering.

How far can a tube run from the block?

With 6 mm tube, expect approx 2 m with an electric gun or approx 5 m manual; high-pressure tube extends runs to 15 – 18 m. Longer powered feeds pair with a grease pump.

How should the block be installed?

Bolt the block through standard mounting holes the operator can work at. Use compression, push-in, or reusable fittings, add elbows or bulkheads at bends, and protect tubing from wear, heat, and crushing.

Will my existing grease gun connect?

Yes. Fittings are SS304 with 1/8″ BSP threads, the standard thread on common manual, battery, and pneumatic grease guns.

How do I know the block or one of the lines has a problem?

Watch for abnormal resistance during greasing, grease where it should not appear, or one point that stops taking grease while others feed. That signals a blocked tube; trace the line from outlet to point.
