Grease Lubrication Filter — ELS Inline Strainer
The ELS grease filter is an inline strainer for centralized grease lubrication systems. It removes solid contaminants from grease before they reach the pump, progressive divider, or injectors—protecting pistons, check valves, and narrow metering orifices from premature wear.
Body: steel construction for high-pressure service. Working pressure: up to 25 MPa. Filtration: 150 µm nominal element. Port size: 1/4 connection class (see Section 2 dimension note). The filter provides particle removal only—it is not a clogged-line indicator and does not replace differential pressure switches on dual-line or alarm circuits.
Install on the fill or supply line upstream of the pump suction or immediately after the pump outlet on large plants. Pair with grease pumps, FS mobile pumps, progressive metering units, and heavy equipment lubrication systems. For oil circuits, see in-line oil filter.

ELS Grease Filter Function
Contaminated grease—metal chips from refilling, drum rust, or worn gun couplers—can block a single progressive section and starve every downstream bearing. The ELS filter captures particles above 150 µm while allowing NLGI grease flow at system pressure. Clean grease improves metering accuracy and extends divider and pump element life.
What This Filter Does Not Do
- Not a clogging / blockage alarm device—no signal when the element is full
- Not a kitchen range hood grease filter—industrial centralized lubrication only
- Not a substitute for proper fill practices and drum storage hygiene

- Pump inlet side — protects pump on refill from drum or bulk transfer
- Main header downstream of pump — protects entire divider manifold on large systems
- Before sensitive metering — injector or dual-line block inlet on dirty environments
Maintenance
Inspect element on scheduled PM—replace when differential flow drops or at OEM interval. Use clean NLGI grease when refilling; wipe filler port and drum head before opening. Dispose spent elements per plant environmental rules.
